Bought this microwave/convection oven on Tuesday - Swiss brand - store had none in stock so ordered it.
We picked it up on Wednesday, Had to park a distance away due to traffic, and battled the huge monster box to the car.
Finally at home, got it installed .............. the lights went on, the motor hummed, it made the correct noises ......... but has NO COOKING POWER!
It`s a dud!
Repacked it into its box, and intend returning it after work today.
Now ..... the advice part please: I really no longer trust this brand. I want our money back. What is the protocol when this type of thing happens?
If no refund, and shop offers to replace it .......... Do we have to go thru the same rigmarole of fetching/hauling? Or is one entitled to ask to have the new one delivered to the house? Its a long haul to this shop, and means O/H losing working hours.
My view is that we bought it in good faith. It was obviously not tested at the factory, just shipped out.
We`ve done our bit in attempting to buy a functioning apparatus.
It does not function.
What sort of rights do we have, to ask for?
Any advice in dealing with this question, mightily appreciated.
I`ll keep checking this thread during the day, as am not wanting to make any foolish moves in the confrontation this evening at shop.
