Aside from the minimum legal notice periods, are there any other rules under Swiss employment which stipulate what your notice period should be or is it basically: whatever you negotiate with an employer?
I'm negotiating an offer from a different company in Zug and they are indicating they have to offer me 2 months versus my requested 4 months (based on my current contract) because they are obliged by law to not make exceptions with regard to notice period lengths between employees of a given company who are at the same level.
My gut feeling is they are feeding me with nonsense (which in itself, if correct, would be a reason for me to reject the offer).
