Holiday in Switzerland

Hi there,

My wife and I are planning on a vacation to Italy/Switzerland at the end of January. Here's what I've cobbled together based on some research online. I appreciate if you could offer some suggestions:

Thu Jan 23 Afternoon arrive in Milan
Fri Jan 24 Milan
Sat Jan 25 Milan to Lugano, stay in Lugano
Sun Jan 26 Lugano to Bellinzona, stay in Bellinzona?
Mon Jan 27 Bellinzona to Lucerne stay in Lucerne
Tue Jan 28 Lucerne Mt. Rigi/Pilatus (for sledding, cross-country skiing or winter hiking)
Wed Jan 29 Mt. Rigi/Pilatus
Thu Jan 30 Lucerne to Grindelwald, stay in Grindelwald?
Fri Jan 31 Grindelwald (cross-country skiing?)
Sat Feb 1 Grindelwald to Milan
Sun Feb 2 Morning leave Milan

Should we not bother with any of these places? Do you have suggestions for other places to visit? This will be our first time to Switzerland. So anywhere we go will be new for us. We like to do some outdoor activities if the weather permits, just not downhill skiing (had some bad experience skiing in the states). We really enjoy hiking, and we'd like to try crosscountry skiing and tobagganing.

Given that it'll be the middle of the winter, should we skip Lugano and Bellinzona and spend more days in Grindelwald or go to Wengen?

Or should we skip Grindelwald altogether and go to Zurich, especially since we'd have done the mountains already in the Lucerne region?

Do you recommend skipping any parts of the itinerary for Bern, Lausanne, or Geneva? My original plan was to head over to Geneva, but it seemed like we would be spending a lot more time (and money) on the train instead of enjoying the place.

We're hoping not to break the bank during this trip. Do you have any tips on saving money? Like in getting train or admission tickets? I admit - I got scared by the prices for Jungfraujoch (is it worth the price?).
