I am in a bind because to sell my stuff on the sold section I need to write 10 posts.. I am not a natural born writer but I thought I'd have a go at a little something here to say goodbye to Englishforum... or EF as it likes to be called!
Since arriving here in Zurich, I have used this site on many many occassions for a little info or help or advice and to be honest.. I shamefully have not given much back in return.
I am now leaving after 4 years in Switzerland and moving to London to take up residence there for a few years.
In my time here I have been lucky enough to represent Switzerland in sport (touch rugby!) and skied tons of resorts, hiked up mountains and swum in beautiful lakes.. it is quite the life and I have loved it.
I have not made many Swiss friends... I found that its very difficult to get 'below the surface' with the Swiss...I can understand that they often feel somewhat frustrated with the mass influx of bankers, financiers and insurance people... I get frustrated with a lot of those guys too! ;) However I have made some very good friends here, particularly through the excellent touch rugby club in Zurich (Geezers) .. (NB if you are at a loss of what to do and need to meet some cool, friendly, non-judgmental people.. then you will do very well to turn up to a game on a Sunday or during the weekdays in the summer.)
So thank you Englishforum.. I think this site is a fantastic resource for us Expats in Switz and I hope that it continues to get used as actively for many years to come.
