As part of the Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Plan, two Vancouver Island Marmots will be adopted by GoldenPass and will spend the rest of their days happily cavorting in the fields of the Rochers-de-Naye at over 2045 meters altitude. This is the first time ever that this type of extremely rare rodent (considered rarer than Pandas) will be leaving Canada.
On this occasion - Canadian citizens taking the scenic cog train between Montreux and the Rochers-de-Naye can enjoy FREE transport from Thursday, July 4th to Saturday, July 6th, 2013, on presentation of their Canadian passports.
If memory serves me right, this return trip costs around 50 chf otherwise.
