Hi,
I just realized that the "religious" (ahaha) Carnival is actually next week, on the 4th of March, and this is indeed the one celebrated e.g. in Brasil.
Yet, the one here in Basel is only on the following week... I then checked that Easter in Basel is apparently on the same date as (non-Orthodox) Easter, i.e. this year it falls on 20 of April as I would have expected it
Does anyone know what is the reason for the discrepancy in the Carnival date?
EDIT: Nevermind, just found it in wikipedia.
Quote - Today, the Carnival of Basel is said to be "the only Protestant carnival in the world".
