Anyone has any idea on getting rid of pimples?

I know Google probably would turn out a million results, but I want to know from the people who actually got rid of acne problems, because I am about to go to a pharmacy to buy anything as long as it is effective.

So far many people have given me different remedies, but none had acne problem before, so its good to hear from someone who had it, and hopefully got treated and can recommend any advice.
