Short Term Renting Restrictions?

Hi All,

I'm considering a move to Bern to be with a loved one for a relatively short period while they are at university. As i am British, I'm not sure of the ease of getting a short term let (3 months or so in the city) and what restrictions to the non-Swiss are in place? i.e. credit checks/employment status (i may not be working during the stay). i just want to find out if it is at all viable to move into a relatively cheap flat/home for that sort of length of time.

If anyone has any advice or input on this it'd be great to hear from you.
