L permit spouse in Lugano

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say Hi. I joined my wife last month in Lugano on a family reunion basis. We are both PhDs. She is working as a faculty for a small college here and I am enjoying my short break from work.
We moved from USA (Indian citizens), and currently exploring and understanding the nuances of Swiss life.

Just wanted some opinions and suggestions on how can a L permit spouse make oneself useful esp. since the permit has so many restrictions for the spouse.
