Hello, I am totally new to the forum and looking forward to all the experienced members to answer my questions.
I am moving to Switzerland (Zurich) in the first week of May from USA (although I have an Indian passport). I am supposed to be on L permit which will be retrieved from the local canton I guess. I have questions with respect to my license conversion and motorcycle registration.
1. I have a US license with 2 years of license from the issue date (as the license has been reissued in 2012) but I also have a official drivers extract which has well over 3 years of driving record. The license also has an "M" Motorcycle endorsement. Although I will be moving in May, my US driving license expires end of August 2014. a) So will I be able to convert the license after obtaining my residence permit with ease or I still need to be without a license for 12 months. not sure? b) Will the motorcycle permit get converted too?
2. I have a Harley Davidson VRSCA VROD motorcycle which will be shipped to the Switzerland. a) Are there any restrictions for me to ride the motorcycle since I already have well over a years history of riding in the US. b)Are there any restrictions on importing and homologating/registering such kind of a motorcycle?
