I know what's going on with my life in May now! It's been up in the air lately, for the children and me anyway. We were thinking we'd end up staying behind in the UK until late May or June while my husband found an apartment for us all. But he's found a temporary furnished apartment, and now it's looking like we are all going on the 1st. Which is not far away at all, eek got so much stuff to sort out! I'm so glad though that we can all go together. I'm quite nervous too, the place we'll be staying is not somewhere we visited; also he goes away to Sweden less than a week after we arrive, and later in the month he goes away to Austria. So half of my first month in my new country I'm all by myself! It's a bit scary, but not dark scary if you know what I mean!
The temporary flat we have is for 2 months. Do you think this will be long enough to get somewhere permanent sorted out? (looking to Lachen or Altendorf if it depends on specific areas)
School... we'll be arriving 2 months before the summer holidays. But the temporary place isn't even in the same canton as where we'll end up living and where they'll be starting in August. The little one doesn't start Kindergarten until then anyway. I was going to just let my 7-year-old have a 3-month summer... is this allowed?? Or would I have to register her in the local school where we'll be at temporarily?
