My daughter has been working in a Swiss employer doing heavy domestic work for 10 months but has just been hit with post-mononucleosis/glandular fever fatigue and swollen spleen, confirmed by her "house doctor", who authorised 4 weeks sick leave in writing.
The fatigue means she is increasingly unable to look after herself (she has no-one to care for her), so we decided that we would fly her back and put her in bed to ensure she recuperates with less risk of Chronic Fatigue developing. She has a return ticket to return in 4 weeks time.
She advises that this plan is now causing consternation at her employer.
Some colleagues are claiming that leaving the country while covered by a sick leave form is "illegal". This sounds decidedly odd - perhaps they mean administratively unexpected or maybe even forbidden.
Can anyone please shed light on this matter?
