question about the reinsurance business

my friend, who is following a job-vacancy lead in the reinsurance sector, asked me to put a request out for info on EF. so here goes...

regarding the financial plans of reinsurance divisions, i.e. regarding their submissions for reinsurance, what are the related metrics used (ratios, performance metrics, risk metrics etc)?
