Reccently in an ODI in Birmingham, Senanayake Mankaded Jos Buttler. He had previously warned Buttler a number of times for backing up too far. Soon the same set of allegations of breaching the 'Spirit of Cricket' broke out in the studios.
Q: What do the cricket loving/watching EFers think about it?
In my opinion, this 'Spirit of Cricket' is some kind of bogey that people love to come out with every time there is some such incident. Mankading is a perfectly legitimate dismissal and if anything the runner, by backing up too far was cheating. It is this that should be condemned not the bowler punishing the cheater.
