Mammut backpacks any good or....

...am I paying just for the name?

I have a 10 year old Dakine backpack which has started to run out of space so I was looking for a news hiking backpack. Came across ones from Mammut and the material was really thin in comparison to my old Dakine backpack.

Mammut material felt thin similar to the backpack selling in Aldi under "Crane" label for CHF20-30.

For the price Mammut wants I was expecting much better material. Could it be that super dooper modern material just feels fragile but is very strong :confused:

I remember reading-

Upper fabric- 210D Nylon fancy Ripstop
Base fabric- 420D Nylon
