Deutsch A2 to B1

A few months ago I successfully completed, and received, the Start Deutsch A2 certificate. The A2 test is really not that difficult. The test had the same components as A1, but very little (if any) grammar requirement.

I would like to start the B1 level, but don't think that I know enough proper grammar to put it all together. Because of the back and forth way grammar is taught , I have several loose threads of knowledge that I can't seem to put in a straight line. I understand the overall theory so re-taking an entire A2 course would not be the solution.

I have taken classes that were 20% spoken German and 100% spoken German (very strict). I think a course that could explain the finer theory in English yet stick to a German format is ideal...say 20% English and 80% German.

I know that B1 is a big step from A2, and that one should have there grammar discipline in order to avoid being left behind from the start.

Can anyone recommend a real pre-B1 preparation (or A2 review) course (not Duolingo), teacher, book or learning aid that will help build my grammar confidence. I'm thinking 10 hours of private instruction or a book that I can learn on my own would do it.

Thank you in advance.
