Wanted to start a thread to capture some of the frustrations you have encountered and what you have done to overcome them.
Most of my frustration since I moved here are related to the lack of competition in some of the sectors. Due to this void I don't feel alot of companies are doing all they can to provide a quality product or decent customer service.
Here are some of my frustrations and solutions:
Cablecom:
Daily interruption of internet service and very limited choice of english channels
Solution - Switched to Swisscom
Swisscom:
Internet connect slow and never reaching advertised speed, bluewin tv kept freezing. Their solution was to increase my speed and remove connection in other rooms. Result bluewin freeze solved, monthly fee increased,can no longer setup bluewin tv boxes in other rooms and speed still doesn't reach what was advertised.
Solution - none
Sales reps in stores:
I guess it must have to do something that most are not paid any commission. But sales reps don't seem to know much if anything about the product they are selling or are willing to come and help you. Doesn't matter if you are in the market for a car, electronics or even tiles the services in someplaces are planely missing.
Solution - do research on your own and what you can just order by internet.
Supermarkets:
Lack of choices from beer to vegetables, anyone feel like they are walking in the supermarket that is always carrying the same products?
Solution: Got to farmers markets and brewer your own beer :cheers: even if I did find a very good brewery (doppelleu) which makes me feel like I am back in the US everytime I crack a beer open.
These are some of my current frustrations which are mostly caused by being used to a different kind of lifestyle....which makes me come to my second question. Why do you think the Swiss population is ok with it?
Is it cause....
They don't know any different?
They are set in there ways and don't embrace change?
Lack of wanting to do more?
Or.....?
