I think this belongs in this section... I saw a few posts about DHL charges for bringing items into Swizerland. I am buying an item worth roughly USD1900 and it seems better to deliver it to Switzerland than Germany due to lower vat (although higher postage charge).
What is the latest on couriers charges? Meaning USPS (which I assume links to DHL - ?) vs UPS Fedex.
When I lived in Canada I refused to have UPS deliver anything across the border because unlike FedEx and USPS, they added around $50 to $60 per item to clear it across the border. Often with no duty charge. The other two charged nothing. This item will definitely need clearance.
Any update on whether I am inviting horrendous charges by using the wrong service, so I can negotiate with the seller on which service to use?
Many thanks.
