Hello forum!
New to renting in Switz, and some quick queries please. We have moved into a new apartment in the Valais region, and the following are issues which the landlord seems reluctant/is refusing to address, and I'm not sure where we stand
1) Currently, the lights are just wires hanging out of the wall, with bulbs attached. I understand we have to supply the fittings, and we have bought these. But who pays for the electrician to come and move the wires to the right place, and to wire up the fittings? As this is a new apartment, no-one has set up lights before, so there would be a fair amount of work involved IMO.
2) The house is on the top floor so skylights in most rooms. At the moment there are no shutters or blinds or anything, so the neighbours can see into our bedroom for example, and there is light at night, and heat during the day. At the moment we have put towels up to cover. The normal windows all have the usual blinds you can wind up and down. I don't mind buying curtains in general, but I would have thought an outside shutter/blind should be provided as part of the house.
3) Likewise there is no external blind on the balcony, which is fully exposed to the sun.
4) All the rooms have a curtain rail...except the lounge. Surely we don't have to supply one more curtain rail to complete the lot.
5) Finally!, we have a cellar, but no form of lock on it, and we live in a complex. The door handle with locking bolt is in place, and fits our keys, but the part that the lock fits into has not been fitted. Once again, surely not our responsibility to complete the work?
Thanks for any advice!
