After living here 5 years and from being yelled at by random strangers so many times for minor offences such as forgetting to use my towel in the gym sauna, rolling my bike on an empty sidewalk, crossing the street where youre not supposed to cross, etc, I have come to a conclusion:
The Swiss are unique in the way they police each other.
They apply an absolute zero tolerance and will approach you in a way other people would usually approach someone who keep repeating the same bad behavior and you've simply had enough.
From where im from, playing the parent to a random adult in the street can and will lead to a broken nose - but not here.
They skip the "friendly reminder" step and skip straight to "don't do that, that is unacceptable!!"
Anyone else noticed this?
