Getting insurance coverage in other canton

Hi friends,

I will be moving to Basel and prefer to live in Basel-Land due to tax advantage and cheaper rent and of-course due to the location of my company.. I understood from the forum that the standard insurance will cover the person only the canton where he lives.. As a person who has some pre-existing conditions, I need to visit the University of Basel Hospital for regular check-up where the specialists treatment available.. It would be great if anyone could advise me whether living in Basel-Land will really affect me to get treatment in the hospital located in Basel-Stadt? Is there any option that I can consider other than living in Basel-Stadt itself? Great thanks in advance for your time...
