Hi all!
I have rented an apartment in Zurich from October, but will not arrive until the end of the month. My father-in-law would like to come for a vacation to Zurich and use the apartment for 2-3 weeks before we arrive. He is a good traveler in general (far more experience than me) and has been to Zurich- but years ago.
I went to the zvv site and looked at all the ticket prices. I thought that the 9 oclock month pass looked nice for a longish vacation. Covers a decent area for travel and seems cheap. Since it's a vacation, I don't think he'll mind the no 5-9am travel weekdays. I was going to recommend this to him. But I have a few questions.
1) Can visitors even get this? And at the prices listed on the website (81 CHF city or 122 all zones; 10-14 more for transferable pass)? Or is this for Swiss residents?
2) Where can you get these passes? As far as I can tell the ticket machines are for individual tickets and upgrades mostly. Will he need to go to a sales office? Does he need to have his picture taken for the personal pass? I thought I'd ask him to get a transferable pass so we could use his leftover days when we arrive, I assume there is no picture for that one:) He is coming in via the Zurich airport I think.
3) Would you recommend something else instead?
Thank you!!
