So I decided I'd apply for Swiss nationality, since this is home. I got a letter asking me for my documents d'état civil. I have the documents and am getting them legalised (within 6 months, as prescribed). The letter also specifies that documents written in a foreign language must be translated into a Swiss language. (Nous vous précisons également que les documents rédigés dans une langue étrangère doivent être traduits dans une des langues officielles suisses.)
As far as I understand this, I should be able to translate my British birth certificate into German or French myself, as it does not say anything about an approved translator etc.
Am I correct in my reasoning?
