Very long shot this, but has anyone, anywhere any advice or encouragement for a persistent and long-standing optic neuritis? Been hospitalised three times, had copious quantities of liquid and subsequently tablet-form cortisone and still suffering from dizziness, dull ache, nausea. Opthalmologists have given up and washed their hands of me - simply don't know what else to do. Any advice would be gratefully accepted. For which, many thanks in advance.

What is the etiquette for meeting the neighbors?
We just moved to Im Tiergarten in Zurich and now that we've survived our first intra-Zurich move, I'd love to meet more people in the neighborhood. (So if anyone here is also living in this community let me know! ) But I'm wondering what is the etiquette for introducing yourself to neighbors? I've had a look through the threads here but most posts seem to be about bad neighbors - I'd like to try to start off being a good one!
I've been told that it's ok to knock on neighbors' doors to introduce yourself, but I've been told writing a note would be better. Do we leave them on their doors, or in the post boxes? I'd be happy to introduce myself in person, but I have only once run into our neighbor across the hall, an elderly Swiss lady, and she looked at me warily and kind of hurried away.

low fee english international schools
Hi ,
I'd like to ask if anyone knows whether there are any government funded
state run english international schools in Switzerland - something where there's
little / no tuition fees - like there are some in Germany for e.g.
I live in Germany but might move to Switzerland since I'm currently working
in Zurich and have two babies and one is ready for kindergarten already.
Also, does anyone know of any companies who sponsor their employees'
children for international english schools?

Lovely ridgeback dog looking for a new home
I have a beautiful 9-year-old black ridgeback dog (Charlie) whom I have to let go due to a recent divorce and that fact I have two very young children to look after.
Charlie have been with us for more than 7 years. We brought him over to Switzerland from Cambridge, UK 6 years ago. He has a lovely nature, great around children. Very healthy (everyday, he has a Pedigree chew for his teeth or hip as after dinner treat). Fully house trained, very playful.
It breaks our hearts to part with him. I hope he will go to a loving home rather than an animal shelter. We adopted him from an animal shelter and can't bear to send him back to the same enviroment again.
We live in Nunningen, around 30 km from Basel. If interested, please send me a message and we can arrange a visit.

Not really looking for anything here....just wanted to say hi and see if there are any English speaking people around Zug/Baar to meet up with or get info about the area. Ill be moving there in July and hope to work/live in Switzerland for a long long time.
I like to ski and play hockey (Canadian stereotype) as well as hiking/camping. Any info on what to do and where to do it would be much appreciated!

1. Two year old sofa table: 130*70*40 cm
- The table is easy to transport as it's all in one piece. Very new, no scratches. Both sides have a sliding door for storage space.
- CHF 100 with the two block stools
- CHF 80 without block stools

I'm new to the forum, and I've just moved to Zurich a few weeks ago...
My girlfriend is visiting in a few days for a week, and I was looking for things do over the weekend.
I saw a few places have Tin Tobogganing, and that some ski resorts are still open until the end of May, if we wanted to go sledding. Does anyone know any places that are easily accessible from Zurich by train where we could so something like that?
or any other suggestions for some fun activities near Zurich?

Is there any job for MSc. in image processing, machine learning, data scientist?!
Hello,
I am looking for a job in Geneva, lausanne in image processing, computer vision, machine learning (data scientist, data analyst, data management) either Academic (as a researcher) or Business sector.
Since I just speak in English and Portuguese I find it frustrating to find a job there without knowing french language. I am good at my job and I have good knowledge about image processing and machine learning (I know Matlab, Python and a bit C++)!
I check adecco.ch, jobs.ch, monster.ch, ineed.ch, linkedin every day for new jobs and I improve my CV and networking by:
- I started learning french language.
- I start networking from 6 months ago using linkedin.
- I created a webpage and put my code samples there. (to show that I have a programming skills!)
- I am active member in linkedin.
- I update my knowledge about image processing and machine learning constantly by learning new techniques.
- I sent formal emails with my updated CV to companies related to my area and asked them if they have or will have open position which I could apply.
I really do appreciate if you have any positions available in your company that you can recommend me, for which I might apply or could point me in a right direction on where I can get an experience based on my field.
